Day Camp

CANOE • KAYAK •  DRAGON BOAT

We offer a variety of full day and half day camps for children aged 8 to 15 years old. Your child will have the opportunity to learn about paddling in a fun and stress-free environment. We also offer extended AM and PM hours for the full day camp and AM hours for the half day camp.

Canoe Kids (Full Day Camp)

Let us share our passion for paddling with your child. The campers will have the opportunity to try different types of canoes and kayaks and learn the importance of Open Water Wisdom. Throughout the week, they will get to go on a paddling outing in a fun and safe environment. In case of bad weather, the programming will be modified to include on land games, scavenger hunts, sessions on water safety among other fun activities.

 

Group 1: Children who have completed first (1st) to third (3rd) grade
Group 2: Children who have completed fourth (4th) to sixth (6th) grade

Location: The chalet in the Grande-Anse Park located at 90 du Bord-du-Lac -- Lakeshore Road.
Equipment: sunscreen, bathing suit and towel, change of clothes, snack and water bottle, water shoes.

Hours

Camp: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Extended hours Morning: 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.
Extended hours Afternoon: 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Intro to Paddling Camp (Half-Day Camp)

This half-day camp introduces campers athletes to the sport of canoe-kayak by teaching them basic paddling techniques and familiarizing them with various types of boats. Games, on land and on the water, will put a smile on the faces of children and instructors.

 

Age: For children who completed second (2nd) to fifth (5th) grade

Hours

Camp: 9:00 a.m. – noon
Extended hours Morning: 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.

In case of bad weather or strong winds, alternative activities will be planned.

 

Policies

  1. The Pointe-Claire Canoe Club reserves the right to cancel practices and activities due to weather or water conditions.
  2. All members of the Club must wear a personal floatation device (PFD) supplied by the Club.
  3. All programs, excluding Open Paddle, will be cancelled on May 22, June 24-26, July 1-3 and September 4, 2017.
  4. The Pointe-Claire Canoe Club reserves the right to change the schedule with notice.
